Get a class on the board

1

Pick or create a class, subject, and group

Choose from the three dropdowns to filter down to exactly who you need. Each one has its own + to add, pencil to edit, and trash to remove — the subject and group dropdowns unlock once you've picked the level above them.

4

Search and edit students

Type a name to search in real time. Click a student to change their details — name, number, parent email, subjects and groups, or a highlight colour for their gradebook row. The arrows in the panel's title bar take you to the next student. Click the star to put someone on your watch list.

Use the bulk actions bar

Upload a filled-in spreadsheet with Import Excel (Get Template gives you the empty one), download your list with Export to Excel, write to every parent with a registered address at once with Email Parents, or carry students over into a new year.

Colour or renumber several students at once

Tick the students in your list and click Bulk Edit & Renumber. In Bulk Edit & Roster Tools, pick a colour and choose Apply Color to mark their gradebook rows (or Remove Color). Renumber Students sorts the class by last name — always the whole class, even when a subject or group filter is on.

7

Carry students into a new class

Open Carry Over, give the archive a year label, type the class's name for next year, tick the students who move up, and click Execute Carry-Over. The whole year is saved in the archive — grades, and every recorded lesson's attendance, participation and notes — and the class starts the new year fresh.

Revisit your class archives

Every archived class stays in the Class Archives list. Open one to look through it, search for a student there to download their Full Student Record (PDF) for that year, download the archive as a spreadsheet or offline file, or delete it when you no longer need it.
