Help Guides
Grading Setup has two tabs: Grading Systems, where you preview or build the scales your gradebook columns use, and My Rubrics, where you write the grading guides the AI follows. This walkthrough covers both.
Pick a scale from the dropdown — US A–F letters, German or Austrian numeric scales, French 20-point, IB 7–1, UK GCSE, or a simple Pass/Fail — to see its exact percentage thresholds instantly.
Click Create Scale, name it, and list your own symbols — like Outstanding, Satisfactory, Needs Work — with a minimum percentage for each. Thresholds must strictly decrease; the editor checks as you go.
A custom scale isn't limited to one column. Open the class gradebook's Edit Structure window and pick it from the Active Grading Scale list to grade the entire class by it.
Click the download icon next to any custom scale to save its settings file, then send it along. They click Upload Scale and pick the file — thresholds are re-validated automatically before it saves.
Click the My Rubrics tab at the top of the page — this is where your personal AI grading guides live, separate from the grading scales.
Click Create New Rubric, give it a name, and describe exactly what the AI should evaluate and how to score it — the more specific, the more consistent the grading.
Your rubrics appear in the Grading Rubric dropdown on the AI Batch Grader page — pick one and every paper in that batch is graded against it.
